What Happened to the SHonline2 Forum?
For several days I've been unable to reach Freeforum101.com. Okay, technical difficulties, I thought... Now this morning I can reach the site, but the only thing there is this forbidding notice: "freeforum101.com... This Domain Name Has Expired - Renewal Instructions."
Oh oh... there goes the SHonline2 forum. And Adam's old SHonline forum, and Karmic's stillborn Hand Cafe, and everything. In a sense it's not such a loss, SHonline2 has gone pretty badly downhill over the past year and a half. Long time no moderator, law of the jungle, Wild West, and all that. In a sense it's actually a liberation and a release, a chance for a fresh start for the online HOM community.
But in another sense it's a real letdown. Years of posts and discussions and links and other HOM material, lost. And if there's going to be a new HOM forum, where is it going to be, and how are people going to find it? I've been part of the HOM community for fifteen years now, and there's always been at least one watering hole for the community, somewhere. Usually only one really active gathering place at any one time, given that the HOM community is not large in number. But we've always had somewhere to gather.
If anyone has any news, any information, any ideas, any opinions, please leave a comment.

Archadius, I think you're right, it looks like whoever was behind freeforum101.com simply walked (or drifted) away, leaving all the discussion forums they hosted to go up in a puff of smoke.
The HOM community was dependent on freeforum101.com for many years. SHonline2 going back to April 2010. SHonline going back to January 2008. And going back a year or two earlier than that, Mr. Smothers' last and final SMN discussion forum. All our eggs in one basket, and now all of a sudden the basket has vanished...
I registered for your new forum, Female Hand Fetishes Unite, and I've been looking around over there, and it looks like the forum is off to a good start! Will be following that with interest.
BTW, I crossposted at deviantART, and there are also some comments on our situation with the disappearance of freeforum101.com over there.
