What This Site Is All About

Let's see if I can explain this from square one, as if to a newcomer...

This is Tales from the Yellow Hand, a blog devoted to hand fetish, nail fetish, and female-dominant hand-over-mouth fetish.

I started this site under the pen name of Yellow Hand. I'm also known as Jim. A lot of my readers have been with me for years, but if you're a random wanderer who's just stumbled in, you may be wondering: Handgagging? HOM?! Women shutting people up with a hand over their mouth??! What the hell is all this about, anyway?!

Well, it's a fetish. The HOM fetish. HOM, short for "hand over mouth." Some of us out here go crazy over the idea of a female holding her hand over someone's mouth. I dunno, the online HOM community may consist of a thousand or so individuals? And maybe 150 of them more than just minimally active online? There aren't very many of us. It's a rare fetish, almost unheard of; nothing like the foot fetish, which seems to be common and fairly well known. We're scattered all around the globe, different countries, different backgrounds, various stations in life. What we have in common is a fascination with a woman holding her hand over someone's mouth.

Me, Jim, I'm a professional in my late 40s. I live in the United States. I've had a thing about "mouthholding" (as I always used to call it) ever since I was young. Came no doubt from growing up with an older sister who was prone to shutting up her annoying kid brother, though there were also other factors involved (fuller account here). A lot of fetishes get started more or less like that, I suppose. I didn't know what this secret fascination of mine was about, I only knew I was different. And for decades I had no idea if there was anyone else in all the world who was different like me. Because in those days there was no way to sniff out any word about such matters.

Then I got online. It was 1999. And soon I happened across some HOM websites. Back in those days it was Mr. Smothers' SMN.org, and HOM Bondage's old original SH! Online site on Fortune City, and several other sites. Oldtimers in the HOM community will remember. And I was astonished: I am not alone! For several years I mostly just lurked. Eventually, following the lead of Jenny from Sweden and Harold and others, I began posting my own HOM short stories on a HOM discussion board. That led in time to this site, and this site has just grown, and here we are.

Actually I'd been writing "mouthholding" fiction on my own for many years before I got online. Back before the Internet, back before home computers, dating back to my early teens in the mid 1970s -- we're talking at least 35 years ago -- I was already penciling stories about "mouthholding" into a carefully hidden leatherbound calendar book. Later came typewritten stories. Then came many stories (including a complete HOM novel in the early 90s) which were lost in the crash of a hard drive. So I've been at this for a long, long, long time. Back in those days I obviously wasn't writing for an audience, because I never dreamed there could be an audience for such stories. I was writing because I was driven.

(I sometimes wonder how many other isolated individuals were also secretly turning out things like this, back in the years and decades before the World Wide Web.)

I still write chiefly because of an inward psychological impetus, which waxes and wanes with various bumps in the road. And so this site has proceeded, on and off, through four phases: January to May 2006, August 2008 to March 2009, January 2010 to June 2011, and January 2012 to present. Like I say, over a hundred HOM short stories, with other femdom/hand, fiction, and nonfiction posts on the side. Maybe every once in a while I ought to write a letter like this, to explain to newcomers (and also perhaps to longtime readers) what my site is all about, and also something of the hidden history behind this site. I mean, what drives a guy to write over a hundred stories, where the common denominator in all his stories is a woman holding her hand over someone's mouth?!
