Longer Nails on Her Left Hand
I know some men don't like it when a woman's fingernails aren't all the same length, but I've always been fascinated and turned on when I see a woman whose nails are various different lengths. Often, it seems to me, those unevenly long nails have a tale to tell, if only you can unravel their clue.
One of the most common patterns is, a woman will often have longer nails on her left hand than on her right hand. And the reason for this is plain: most people are right handed. So the nails on her left hand are less liable to breakage from heavy use.
For much the same reason, a woman will often have longer fingernails on her ring finger and/or her little finger, than on the other fingers of that hand. Ring finger and little finger are out of the fray compared to middle finger and index finger and thumb. Oh, index finger seems to get the worst of it!
Her thumbnail is also sometimes longer than all else would lead you to expect; though I tend to think that's because the thumbnail is often thicker and stronger than the other nails.
Sometimes you'll see one of these patterns carried to an extreme. How many sightings over the years are filed in my memory, where I was walking down a city street and sighted a young woman, most of her nails short or shorter, but the nail on her left little finger grown out an inch, an inch and a half, two inches, or even longer?!
And I will never forget the young woman, long cinnamon hair, leather jacket, whom I saw in the vicinity of a business college twice one afternoon. Her other nails were short, but her left thumbnail was grown out a good two and a quarter inches, like a translucent popsicle stick! Business college? My Sherlock Holmes insight: the left thumb is the one digit you don't use when typing on a keyboard.
Once in a while you'll see a pattern that defies all logic. I remember the teenage girl at a bus stop, many years ago, whom I observed to have the nails on each of her index fingers grown out a full three quarters of an inch. They weren't fakes. They were real. And all her other nails were short.
One pattern I've noticed a number of times, and it puzzles me. You'd expect a left handed woman to display longer nails on her right hand, wouldn't you? But a number of times I've met a left handed woman who had longer nails on her left hand. I was reminded of this again recently. There's a young woman in our neighborhood, a thin blonde I'll call Samantha. Samantha is left handed. And earlier this fall she had many of her nails grown out about a quarter of an inch long. Now over the weekend I ran into southpaw Samantha at a community event, and she has all of her nails trimmed off short or much shorter. Except for the last fingernail on her left hand, which is still grown out something over a quarter of an inch long!
I repeat, Samantha is a lefty. And she has the last nail on her left hand grown out long, just like you'd expect to see on a right handed wench!
I've noticed this pattern again and again with some left handed women. Even though they're left handed, they have their longer nails on their left hand. Best I can figure is, the desire to conform to the herd is a powerful urge...
Oh well. Sightings like these turn me on and afford me a harmless amusement. I find long fingernails, even or uneven, tremendously sexy on a woman. Go figure. A fetish for long fingernails on women (which I have in spades) must belong on any list of the five most common fetishes in men. A fetish for female-dominant handgagging (which I have in spades doubled and redoubled) is far more rare: how many of us HOM fetishists online in all the world? Several hundred, at a rough guesstimate?
My site in its third phase (January 2010 to date) has been almost exclusively about femdom handgagging. I'd like to maintain that as our primary focus, but I'd also like to get back to inclusion of some plain old nail fetish and hand fetish items. Meanwhile, fear not, a new HOM story will be surfacing within a few days...
