Quiet in the Library!

Kayla rubbed lotion into her hands as she stood behind the front desk of the public library. She glanced up at the clock. A few minutes before nine. In just a few minutes, the library would open. In just a few minutes, Kayla would start the first day of her summer job... as a "library monitor."

Kayla rubbed more lotion into her hands. She looked down at her hands, her large hands, with long slender fingers and large soft silky smooth backs. Large soft beautiful hands, but strong hands. Friends sometimes told Kayla, "You ought to be a hand model!" Kayla always answered, "But my hands are too large!"

Still, thought Kayla, it was her hands which had landed her this summer job in the public library. They didn't care so much that Kayla was a 21 year old college student, bright, good with people, and with past library experience to her credit. No, when Kayla had interviewed for a summer job as "library monitor," they seemed to be most impressed with Kayla's large, strong, outsized hands.

Now Kayla looked up and saw the first patrons of the day entering the library. She looked down again at her hands: my nails are almost too long, should've trimmed them, but... no, forget it for now. As a library monitor, I've got to focus on my job now. As a library monitor, I'm here for one task and one task only: to enforce quietness in the library!

For the library, under its new mission statement, had decided to get serious about enforcing those little signs posted round about: Quiet in the Library!

9:07 AM Kayla's first "task," a 30ish man with black hair, was mumbling out loud to himself absentmindedly, as he leafed through a book he had pulled from the shelves. Kayla, long straight blonde hair, strode briskly over to the man, and she clamped her large right hand firmly over the man's mouth. The man looked up at her in surprise, his eyes gone wide. But that didn't make Kayla let go of the man's mouth. No, she just stood there silently, and kept her hand firmly over his mouth for a good 10 seconds before she let him go.

Only after she had released his mouth did Kayla point, in silent pantomime, to a nearby sign: Quiet in the Library.

9:22 AM A boy in an orange tee shirt -- Kayla guessed he must've been about 18 -- a boy in an orange tee shirt was sitting at a library computer terminal, websurfing, and suddenly he let loose with an excited exclamation over something on the screen. Kayla silently walked up to the boy, and fastened her large hand firmly in place over his mouth. The boy tried to twist his head and look up at Kayla. She couldn't tell if he was surprised, or stunned, or what. From beneath her hand he went, "Mmmmmmmphhh!" At this, Kayla tightened up her grip on his mouth. Tight! And she kept her hand tight over his mouth, as she stood there silently, for a good 30 seconds or more.

9:29 AM A brunette woman in her 20s was standing at the front desk, waiting to check some books out, but there was nobody at the desk. So the woman called out in a medium-loud voice, "Excuse me, but is there anybody he--mmmmmmph!" Kayla shut the woman up in mid sentence by clapping her hand in place over the woman's mouth. The woman's eyes looked sheepish, embarrassed. After a few seconds, Kayla let the woman's mouth go.

9:41 AM Some young people sitting over at the tables. One of them, a blond boy of about 14, was getting rowdy and joking with his friends. He saw Kayla coming a split second before she reached him: the look on the boy's face was precious! Kayla didn't miss a beat as she reached out straight in front of her, and pressed her large left hand, thumb down, over the boy's mouth. One of the boy's friends started laughing at the boy's plight. Kayla reached around from behind with her other hand, and clamped it thumb up over the laughing friend's mouth. She stood there, holding the mouths of two boys at once, left hand thumb down over one boy's mouth, right hand thumb up over the other boy's mouth. After 10 or 15 seconds of silence, she let them both go.

9:48 AM Back at the computer cluster, that boy in the orange tee shirt was getting noisy again, playing some computer game online. Kayla walked over to him, and clamped her big right hand firmly over his mouth. "Mmmmmpphh! Mmmmmmh, mmmmmmmmmm..." The boy even had the cheek to reach up and tug with his hands on Kayla's hand, as if he was trying to pull her hand away from his mouth. But Kayla wouldn't let go; she just stood there, holding his mouth tight in the palm of her hand. "Mmmmmmmmhh!" He looked up at Kayla, and she couldn't read the look in his eyes. Amused? Cocky? Testing her? It was hard to tell. "Mmmmmmmmmph, mmmmmmhhh mmmmmmmh..." He made more noises, rolling his eyes above the large expanse of Kayla's big, smooth, scented hand planted firmly over his mouth. Kayla kept on holding the boy's mouth for over two minutes, just to make sure he got the point: Quiet in the Library!

10:01 AM Up just inside the front door, a woman of about 30 was talking on a cell phone. Kayla the library monitor walked over to the woman, and wrapped her large warm hand over the woman's mouth, so she couldn't talk on the cell phone any more. The woman's dark eyes flashed, indignant. But Kayla simply pointed silently to a sign on the wall: Please Minimize Cell Phone Use in the Library. Once the woman gave in, which took about 10 seconds, Kayla removed her hand from the woman's mouth.

10:08 AM A college boy Kayla knew from an English class last fall came into the library: "Kayla, hey, you're working here this--" Kayla pressed her hand over his mouth. She whispered to him, "Shhhhh! My summer job is to keep people quiet here in the library -- like this! You talk, my job is to come up and hold my hand over your mouth..."

10:18 AM More trouble with the boy in the orange tee shirt, now making noise again at the computer terminal. Kayla stepped up right behind the boy's chair, and reached around and clamped her right hand hard over the boy's mouth, her palm squeezed hard over his lips, her thumb resting loosely above the bridge of his nose. "Mmmmmmmph, mmmmm hhmmmm mmmmmmmm hhhhmmmmmmm..." As before, the boy made noises from beneath Kayla's firm gagging hand, and he reached up and tugged at her hand. Now this time Kayla simply clamped her left hand tight over her right hand, and squeezed hard, holding the boy's mouth and lower face tight with both hands at once. "Mmmmmmphh!!" The boy was lazily pulling at her hands, more like he was being impudent than like he was really trying to pull her hands away. "Mmmmmmph! MMMMMMPHH! Mmmmmmmh, hhmmmmmmmm..." Kayla stood there behind the boy's chair, holding his mouth tight with both her hands, her thumbs crossed above the bridge of his nose. Kayla decided to teach him a lesson: this time, she was not going to let him go!

Kayla kept holding the boy's mouth firmly in her hands. He kept making an occasional "mmmmmmmph" noise, but after a minute or so he resumed websurfing, apparently quite content to sit there using the internet while Kayla kept her large, smooth, strong, scented, oversized hands locked tight over his mouth, minute after minute after minute...

Kayla kept holding the orange tee shirt boy's mouth for 12 minutes, until it was time for her morning break at 10:30 AM.

Not too bad a summer job, she thought to herself. Kayla was back in the library office, rubbing more lotion into her hands. Seven "incidents" in an hour and a half, one incident including two persons, three incidents involving the same individual. Easy work, slow pace. And in between "incidents," I can do whatever I please. I think I'm going to like being a library monitor for the summer...

When Kayla came back from her break, she was relieved to see that the boy in the orange shirt had disappeared.

And the rest of the day was more of the same. Kayla enforced quietness in the library; she enforced it by hand, holding the mouth of any library patron who got noisy. By the end of the day, Kayla had silenced a total of 34 patrons, ages ranging by her estimate from 8 to 80. Easy work indeed!

The only jarring note came when the boy with the orange tee shirt returned to the library, early afternoon. At first he was quiet. Kayla caught him glancing over at her several times. Then the orange tee shirt boy was sitting at a table, deliberately reading out loud from a book. Talk about brazen! Kayla stalked over to the boy, stood behind his chair, and immediately clamped both her large, smooth, strong young woman hands hard over the boy's mouth. She held his mouth tight, one hand over the other hand over the boy's mouth, tight, squeezing his mouth tight as if in a living vise of flesh and bone. "Mmmmmmmmph! Mmmmmmh, mmmmmh mmmmmmmmmhh!"

Again the boy kept up his occasional mmmmmmphing noises, but this time he didn't reach up and tug. This time he just sat there, with Kayla keeping her hands clamped firmly over his mouth. Kayla kept holding his mouth this time for a full 20 minutes.

It was only when she took her hands away from the boy's mouth, after 20 minutes, that Kayla saw the look in the boy's eyes. That was when it first dawned on Kayla that maybe, just maybe, just possibly, the orange tee shirt guy liked having her hands clamped over his mouth...

Such a possibility had never before occurred to Kayla.

The next morning, the tee shirt dude was back at the library, waiting outside the front door before the library was even open. Kayla sighed to herself, as she looked down at her large, smooth, beautiful, womanly hands. At least it's an easy job. And I know how to handle him: if that boy likes getting his mouth held, I'll give him way, way more mouth holding than he ever bargained for...

Yellow Hand, I salute you1 As a fellow writer of F/m handgag material, I love where you are coming from. Your ideas are sensational. I wish I had thought of the whole premise behind Quiet In The Library myself for my work! But you beat me to it.

I loved this story. Quiet In The Library is by far the best F/m handgag story I have read in years--very, very clever.

What a concept. Library monitors who are female mouth coverers to maintain silence. Why can't they really be employed? I'd live in the library if they did--and I would talk all day on purpose. Just think, a pretty 21-year-old girl who boldly and publicly will handgag older men! I've always maintained that college girls make the best handgag girls!

I assume these jobs ae only given to young, attractive women with beautiful hands. Gag girls, as it were. Who would want a gag boy? Nah, gotta be gag girls. They have the sweetest, cleanest, prettiest hands for the job.

I do have a question. Did Kayla's employers specifically tell her to employ hand over mouth per se? Or is this her own personal interpretation of QUIET IN THE LIBRARY! Either way, I love it--and I love her hands. what a gag girl! Thanks for the vivid descriptions.

The story ended on a promising note that implied a super-long Kayla handgag on Mr. Orange Tee-Shirt. Please tell me you are planning to pick up where you left off with Kayla's last thought. This story is dying and begging for a sequel! I am asking you to please give us Part Two!

I am so inspired by Kayla and her hands that I want to finish writing your story myself! I hope she's a real person because I think I'm in love!

Thank you!

Yes, the handgagging was the employers' idea. That's why they hired Kayla -- you know, a young woman with large strong beautiful hands, and all...

A sequel is a possibility, once I work through some other ideas which have been bubbling in my mind while I've been away for a while. If it materializes, I think episode 2 would be written from the viewpoint of... the boy in the orange tee-shirt!
